The update we’ve all been waiting for. You can now create your own Snapchat filters from right inside the app. You can stop oohing and ahhing over wedding filters and the 4th of July filters and create your very own customized filter.
In the past, to create a Snapchat Filter, you would have to create a design and then publish it online. A process which is both tedious and annoying. Sorry Snapchat, but no one likes to switch from a phone to a computer. Now you can design and customize your Snapchat filters on the go and all you need is your phone. How you ask?
1. Update Your App
The very first thing to do is to head over to the app store and download the latest Snapchat update. The update rolled out late last month.
2. Jump Straight To The Mobile Creative Studio
Once you have updated Snapchat, click on on the settings button. Look for the category titled “On-Demand Geofilters.” This will take you to the Mobile Creative Studio.
3. Pick An Occasion And Let Your Creativity Flow
Pick a theme such as “baby shower” or “graduation” and personalize it with text, Bitmoji, and stickers. Once you’re done with the design, select the geographic location where you would like the filter to appear, and when — which ranges from an hour to as long as 90 days.
Custom geofilters are still paid features with pricing starting at $5.99 and ranges based on “how long it’ll last, how big it is, and how in-demand that location is at the moment.” Custom geofilters created in the app are only available in the United States to start, but more regions will be added over time.
Go on and take your Snapchat Stories to the next level.
