The 2017 Pulitzer Prize Winners Are..

The Pulitzer Prize Winners are here and you definitely want to add these titles to your shelf. But let’s start off with a bit about Pulitzer Prize – I mean we all have picked up titles stating that they are the Pulitzer winners but who is Pulitzer and why does he/she have this awesome job?

Joseph Pulitzer was born on April 10, 1847, in Hungary. He was a publisher of the New York World and St. Louis Post-Dispatch and was renowned for his work in journalism. In his will, he noted the establishment of the Pulitzer Prizes with four awards in journalism, four in letters and drama, one for education, and five traveling scholarships.  With the progression in society, prizes are now awarded yearly in twenty-one categories. Nominated Finalists are selected by the jury for each category as finalists in the competition. The Pulitzer Prize Board generally selects the Pulitzer Prize Winners from the three nominated finalists in each category. The names of finalists are never announced in advance.
