‘Simply Complicated’ Demi Lovato’s YouTube Documentary Is Excruciatingly Honest

Lady Gaga’s Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two released this fall, introduced us to the true singer and songwriter. Next week, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated premieres on YouTube and chronicles her personal struggles over the years.

In a new trailer released this week, Lovato shares that she wants to be completely honest to her fans about her life, and talk about the issues that have surrounded her life. Referring to her five years of sobriety and that time she punched a backup dancer.

“I actually had anxiety around this interview. I don’t know what everyone is going to think. One thing I’ll never stop doing is being honest, and that’s the best I can do.” says Demi Lovato in the new trailer.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the documentary will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at Lovato’s upcoming album, Tell Me You Love Me. Lovato promised that like the documentary, her new music will also address her six-year relationship with actor Wilmer Valderrama, which ended in 2016.

“I’m on a journey to discover what it’s like to be free of all demons.”
