It feels like a long way to 2018 and to the final season of Game of Thrones but George R.R. Martin believes one of the five ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoffs in development could air by 2019, assuming everything goes according to plan. As reported by IndieWire, “We could possibly see two or even three make it to the pilot stage, with one series emerging on air in 2019 or 2020… and the others maybe later, if they come out as well as we all hope,” wrote Martin of the five successors show currently in development with HBO.
George R. R. Martin mentioned on his Facebook page, that the spinoffs will be more like successors. Bryan Cogman who has been part of the series from the very beginning will be working on an adaptation with Martin that is set during a very exciting period of Westeros history.
Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, Max Borenstein, and Carly Wray, will be working on the other four successor shows.
Martin also revealed that he has been working on four other series concepts on his own!
There are eight million stories in the naked city, and maybe ten times as many in Westeros and the lands beyond the narrow seas
We can see that HBO will be spoilt for choice!
