Chelsea Clinton released ‘She Persisted’ late last month. A children’s book about 13 girls and women who didn’t take no for an answer.
As per Entertainment Weekly, the book’s title is in reference to McConnell’s response for silencing Sen. Elizabeth Warren while she was critiquing Jeff Sessions and his nomination for attorney general. “She was warned,” McConnell said. “She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.”
Early this year #ShePersisted, #LetLizSpeak and “Silencing Elizabeth Warren” were among Twitter’s top trending topics in the United States. Since then this has become a new battle cry for feminists world over.

The book features: Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller, Clara Lemlich, Nellie Bly, Virginia Apgar, Maria Tallchief, Claudette Colvin, Ruby Bridges, Margaret Chase Smith, Sally Ride, Florence Griffith Joyner, Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor—and one special cameo.
‘She Persisted’embodies beautiful illustrations and stories that need to be told and shared with the younger generation – to empower and inspire young girls to dream big and persist.
