I’ve just finished binge watching 13 reasons why and now I’ve queued Girl Boss. Normally I’m the first one to raise my hands and declare that the book was better than the movie but the good thing about TV adaptation is there is enough time to narrate the story and involve the many characters and build the plot. So, here are some must-watch TV Series adaptations that were as good as the book, if not better:
1. Big Little Lies on HBO
Based on the best seller by Lianne Moriarty, this TV adaptation is told through the eyes of three mothers – Madeline, Celeste and Jane, all played by the most talented actors. Big Little Lies paints a picture of a town fueled by rumors and many deep dark secrets.

2. Orange is the New Black on Netflix
Orange is the New Black is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir and about her experiences at a minimum security federal prison. An American Comedy/Drama that will have you glued to your couch right from the first season.

3. Girl Boss on Netflix
Based on the Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography #Girlboss, the series covers her drive and her passion in creating a personal brand. A fun and light paced TV series with a wee bit of crazy!

4. 13 Reasons Why on Netflix
*Major binge watch Alert!* I just had to get through this series in a week! The characters and the plot just keep pulling you in..and you just can’t stop till you find out who and why?

5. The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu
Adapted from the classic novel by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale is the story of life in a dystopian future. Offred played by Elisabeth Moss lives in this terrifying society and her one goal is to survive.

6. The Cormoran Strike on BBC One

8. Undateable on NBC
Undateable is a comedy series about a group of close-knit friends living in Detroit, helping each other figure out their lives.

9. Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime

10. Fresh off the Boat on ABC
All the 80’s and 90’s kids are sure to enjoy this one. This comedy series embraces all aspects of an immigrant family and their American Dream adventures.
