I do love reading a lot but then once in awhile, a book comes along that makes me want to read each paragraph over and over again because there is nothing gripping or enthralling about it. So, what do I do? Shelf it right away? Nope. I’ll bore myself to death till I finally give up, switch to Netflix or side read another book.
But then, more often than not, you get your hands on a book that you just can’t put down and give yourself that worthy break from The Crown binge. Those kinds of books happen to be one of the below.
1. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This one is going to get you scurrying right to the end. The Sinclair family are quite something and have their own ugly truth. It’s short, it’s immersive and it’ll keep you guessing.
2. Me Before you by Jojo Moyes

The grumpy and sad man named Ove is absolutely irresistible by the end of the book. This funny and sublime debut is all about community building and humanity and will not disappoint.

This is normality and it’s truly scary! Jessica Knoll’s debut novel is dark, funny and absolutely captivating. You will be reading this all Sunday long!

The memory box is Black Mirror in a book. This psychological thriller keeps you hooked till the last page. ‘Be careful what you search for.’
7. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

8. The Nix by Nathan Hill
This is a story about Samuel – a writer and his unexpected finds. Filled with history, family, and culture, Nathan Hill has produced a well documented and beautiful debut novel.
